Суд оштрафовал Discord за неудаление экстремистского контента: платформа может быть заблокирована уже сегодня

Discord Fined 3.5 Million Rubles:

Roskomnadzor may demand a ban on Discord's operation in Russia as early as today. This is due to a recent court decision that fined the platform 3.5 million rubles for failing to remove prohibited information related to materials associated with an extremist organization, according to the Telegram channel SHOT.

On September 30, the court imposed a fine on Discord in a case of failure to comply with requirements to remove the specified content. This is not the first punishment for the platform: in July 2023, it was already fined 6 million rubles for posting prohibited content. Now, Roskomnadzor can formally demand a ban on Discord's operation in Russia.

Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that Roskomnadzor had issued five decisions regarding the platform, concerning its operation since September 20. These decisions may lead to an official blocking of the messenger for violating the law. The possibility of slowing down the service is also being discussed in the industry.

Users began reporting disruptions in Discord's operation on September 18. According to Downdetector.su, the largest number of complaints about the service was registered on September 26, when more than 11,200 users reported problems.
