Russian military personnel have begun to apply a new tactic in repelling raids by strike unmanned boats in the Black Sea by naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet. This was pointed out by military expert Yevgeny Damantsev.
According to him, previously the military intercepted BECs using onboard cannon armament from a distance of 1.5 - 3.5 km, which posed a threat to the lives of tactical aviation crews.
From now on, FPV drones will be used, launched by operators from the landing compartments of Mi-8MTV-5 at a distance of more than 12 - 15 km, outside the range of the R-73RMD-2 missiles when launched from surface platforms.
Earlier, the features of the combat mode of Buk-M1 air defense system became known. It detects rockets at 15 km, and low-visibility drones at 25 km.
