The increased glide range of guided versions of FAB-500M-62 and FAB-500T air bombs has been achieved both through the implementation of release from suspension units in high-altitude pitching mode and through modernization of the folding wing configuration. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
We are talking about an increase in wing area by 25-35%. This contributed to a longer glide period and increased lift, which provided a range of 90 - 100 km.
