Crews of 9M133 Kornet ATGMs, working in tandem with drones, effectively engage enemy armored vehicles. This is according to Bulgarian Military.
The range of the Kornet is up to 5.5 km (Kornet-E model), and in newer versions, from 8 km to 10 km. Thanks to the tandem-cumulative warhead, the ATGM missile is capable of penetrating up to 1200 mm of armor.
According to Bulgarian Military, the coordinated work of ATGM crews and UAV operators is changing the balance of power on the battlefield. Drones carrying anti-tank missiles increase the accuracy of strikes on targets.
Drones provide real-time intelligence on target positions and strike from the sky. Consequently, ground troops face fewer risks. Combining UAVs carrying anti-tank missiles with the Kornet ATGM may be more cost-effective than deploying traditional mechanized units.
