The LADA Iskra cross-wagon is gradually revealing its design. Eyewitnesses in Togliatti spotted a prototype with a minimal amount of disguised elements — in the photos, you can see the taillights, bumper, and trunk lid of the SW Cross version. The rear of the car is prepared for urban use: four parking sensors and a small rear overhang, as well as a large unpainted insert for easy parking.
The exterior of the LADA Iskra SW Cross practically corresponds to the patent images, but the prototype lacks roof rails. The exhaust system of this model is routed from below, unlike the Vesta Cross, where the exhaust is hidden. The taillights look simple, without LED sections, which was not surprising, since similar optics were shown on the LADA Iskra sedan.
The car will be equipped with 1.6-liter domestic naturally aspirated engines in combination with Chinese transmissions: a WLY CVT or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Basic versions will be equipped with a "five-speed" Russian assembly, and the 1.8-liter engine will remain only for the flagship LADA Vesta.
In 2024, AvtoVAZ plans to assemble about a hundred LADA Iskra prototypes for resource tests and debugging of production processes. Mass production of the model is scheduled for the beginning of 2025, after which the new product will go on sale at official dealers.
