By the end of 2024, the shortage of taxi drivers in Russia will be about 130,000 people. This was announced by Anton Petrakov, Director of Government Relations at "Yandex Go," during the Eastern Economic Forum.
By the end of 2024, Russia will be short of about 130,000 taxi drivers. The shortage is growing, among other things, due to the tightening of migration policies and regulations in the taxi industry - drivers are moving to other areas where incomes are comparable, but there are fewer requirements and expenses.
According to him, this will lead to a significant increase in the cost of trips. Prices may increase by tens of percent, especially during peak hours.
To restore the influx of taxi drivers, it is planned to create an experimental legal regime for regulators. It involves attracting new personnel, introducing different transportation models, simplifying requirements, and subsidizing partners and drivers.
