AvtoVAZ prepared for the assembly of LADA Iskra, completing the modernization. It took place during the company's corporate leave, when the assembly line was stopped. Insiders spoke about its results.
Granta and Iskra will be produced on the same assembly line [in Togliatti]. This will allow assembling cars on two different platforms without loss of quality.
As an example, the operation of the manipulator is given. It is necessary for installing the instrument panel. The device will allow mounting the part on both models without additional adjustments.
Earlier, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that the modernization of production in Togliatti and Izhevsk required an investment of 600 million rubles. This is a record amount for the company. The equipment was installed for the assembly of not only Iskra, but also the electric Largus and the Aura model.
Recall that the Iskra model was first shown at SPIEF. The car will occupy a niche in the range between Granta and Vesta, and in the future will replace Granta.
