By the end of 2024, carsharing and car rental services will raise prices by 10-20%. This will be due to an increase in the recycling fee in Russia and an increase in prices for maintenance, noted the Telegram channel Mash.
According to the source, carsharing currently has a mostly new fleet – cars aged 3-4 years, and operators try to update them regularly.
But with the arrival of sanctions, the situation has worsened: it has become more expensive to maintain cars, prices for everything have jumped, and dealers no longer provide new cars under the old conditions. The result is already noticeable: unpopular services have roughly matching losses/profits. How much users brought in, the same amount was spent on maintenance.
Experts expect that after the increase in the recycling fee, the most popular cars with engines up to 2 liters risk rising in price by more than 300 thousand rubles. Thus, it will become more difficult to update the carsharing fleet, and operators will be forced to raise prices.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russians have begun to actively buy up used cars in anticipation of rising prices. July became a record month for sales of used cars in 2024.
