"Yandex Market" introduces a service fee for orders

The funds received will go to the development of the platform

From August 19, "Yandex Market" will begin charging a fixed service fee of 20 rubles for each order. According to the press service of the service, the funds from the collection will be directed to the development and maintenance of the platform's infrastructure.

At the first stage, the fee will be valid for users in Moscow, the Moscow region, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. In the future, it is planned to expand to other cities. The fee will only apply to goods of adequate quality that have been delivered to the buyer.

According to representatives of "Yandex Market", the fee will allow maintaining high-quality service and launching new solutions. At the same time, the company will continue to allocate about 10 billion rubles annually for server rental, licensed software, expansion of the IT staff and their salaries.

By the end of the second quarter of 2024, 108 million products were presented on the platform, and the number of active sellers reached 80.6 thousand.
