The Russian national payment system “Mir” will start operating in Iran in the next six months. This was announced by the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali.
The Iranian payment system Shetab will also start operating in Russia.
The “Shetab” system will now function in Russia. Russian officials have promised us that the Russian “Mir” system will also start operating in Iran within six months.
It is worth noting that Russia and Iran started talking about merging the Mir and Shetab payment systems in early June. It was planned that “Mir” would start operating in the republic at the end of August 2024.
