Russia has developed 120-mm and 122-mm guided artillery shells "Kitolov-2" and "Kitolov-2M", equipped with semi-active laser homing heads with a range of up to 12 and 13.5 km, respectively. They were presented at the Army-2024 military-technical forum.
In addition, their 152-mm analogue 3OF39 "Krasnopol" and 3OF95 "Krasnopol-M2" with a range of 25 - 27 km were presented at the forum.
Also at the forum, a 12.7-mm stationary anti-aircraft gun with a multispectral optoelectronic sighting system in a protected steel "casing" was spotted with a total rate of fire of up to 3200 rounds/min and an effective firing range against low-altitude air targets up to 1700 m.
The installation will be able to effectively cover stationary strategically important facilities from enemy kamikaze UAVs with speeds up to 250 - 400 km/h.
Main characteristics of the Kitolov-2M projectile:
- Firing range — from 2000 to 13500 m
- Projectile weight — 28.3 kg
- Type of warhead — high-explosive fragmentation
- Warhead/explosive weight — 12.25/5.3 kg
- Method of hitting the target from above — along a dive-bombing trajectory
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Navy will receive two nuclear submarines "Knyaz Pozharsky" and "Arkhangelsk" by the end of 2024. They will undergo state tests, following which they will be transferred to the fleet.
