Head of "Sevmash" Budnichenko: Works are on schedule

The nuclear-powered strategic missile cruiser "Knyaz Pozharsky" (Project 955A, code "Borei-A") is undergoing sea trials, said Mikhail Budnichenko, General Director of "Sevmash", on the sidelines of the "Army-2024" forum.

After the sea trials of "Knyaz Pozharsky", state trials will begin in 2024. After that, the submarine will be handed over to the customer.

The nuclear cruiser was laid down in December 2016. It will carry 16 solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) "Bulava" developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology. The submarine was launched in February 2024.
