Stolbovo to Become One of Moscow's Largest Electric Depots

Monolithic works on the construction of the administrative and amenity building on the territory of the Stolbovo electric depot are 85% complete. This was announced by the head of the Moscow Department of Construction, Rafik Zagrutdinov.

The building will include five above-ground floors and one underground floor, intended for engineering communications and equipment placement. The building will have 379 rooms, including offices, classrooms, an assembly hall, a gym and sports hall, changing rooms, and showers. A 15-meter pedestrian gallery will also be built for convenient connection between the new building and the maintenance and repair building on the second floor level.

The territory of the Stolbovo electric depot under construction is about 16 hectares and includes more than 30 buildings and structures. In addition to the main construction work, preparations are underway for the installation of electrical networks in the monolithic access collector, and a heating network and water pipeline have been laid. The device of the fan of tracks continues.

The Stolbovo electric depot will be the first on the southern section of the Sokolnicheskaya line and one of the largest in the Moscow Metro. On an area of 15.8 hectares, it is planned to build about 40 buildings and structures with a total area of about 100 thousand square meters. The project includes a maintenance and repair building with 33 pits with a train washing chamber, a motor depot with a repair and construction section, an engineering building, a diagnostic post with an automatic wheelset measurement system on the move, an administrative and amenity building, and other facilities.

The Stolbovo electric depot will be connected to the Sokolnicheskaya line by three metro lines built using the open-cut method. Currently, the fourth line is being tunneled underground, which will connect the depot with the future Troitskaya line. The tunneling work is being carried out by the tunnel-boring mechanized complex "Olga".
