HSE University students, who used neural networks for the first time to prepare their theses this summer, successfully defended their projects. According to Yandex, which provided YandexGPT to support students, more than half of the graduates received the highest score for their work.
Artificial intelligence was used by students in the fields of Philosophy, Media Communications, International Relations and Oriental Studies to collect and analyze data, check texts for errors and other tasks, which usually takes a lot of time.
HSE University recognized the experiment as successful and plans to expand the use of YandexGPT to other areas from the beginning of next year. Students indicated which tasks were solved with the help of AI and how fact-checking was carried out. The most popular AI function was finding errors and typos, as well as summarizing data.
The trend of using GPT models is also observed among teachers, notes Andrey Anfinogenov, Dean of the Faculty of Technological Management and Innovation at ITMO. AI significantly speeds up the preparation of texts and helps in time management, allowing you to focus on practical work and research.
