Россия и Иран вышли на совместное военно-морское патрулирование

Small artillery ships, a missile boat, a destroyer, and a patrol ship headed into the Caspian Sea

The Iranian Navy deployed the destroyer "Deylaman," the patrol ship "Shahid Nazeri," and the missile boat "Joshan" to patrol the northern and central parts of the Caspian Sea. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy was represented by small artillery ships of Project 21630, "Volgodonsk" and "Astrakhan."

The military sailors jointly addressed tasks related to protecting key maritime communications, controlling shipping, and combating piracy.

Over the course of the day, elements of joint maneuvering, defense, and protection of a group of warships at sea were practiced, with sequential transfer of control from the Russian side to representatives of the Iranian Navy and back. At the conclusion of the patrol, the crews of the Russian and Iranian ships performed a farewell ritual on reciprocal courses and headed to their bases.
