A bill on additional restrictions for drivers of personal mobility devices (PMD) has been submitted to the State Duma. It concerns the ban on traveling in the capital's parks and within the Garden Ring.
According to Moscow City Duma deputy Sergei Savostyanov, the authorities also plan to limit the speed of electric scooters to 15 km/h. This will affect all areas of the city. Testing of "slow zones" has already begun.
Scooter riders are planning to be prohibited from riding in city parks and within the Garden Ring. Exceptions are bicycle paths with developed infrastructure.
It is worth noting that restrictions for PMD users were previously introduced in St. Petersburg. There, they banned parking electric scooters in the city center.
