Cable car on Elbrus to be repaired with Russian spare parts

The Elbrus resort in Kabardino-Balkaria has received the first domestic spare parts for its cable cars. Previously, such parts came from abroad, but now they are produced at the Moscow factory of the Ruslet company with the support of the Kavkaz.RF development institute.

As part of preparations for a major inspection of the third stage of the cable car connecting the Mir and Garabashi stations, scheduled for mid-September, a complete replacement of critical equipment elements such as balancers, rollers, bearings, shafts and axles will be carried out. The inspection is carried out every 22.5 thousand hours of cable car operation.

Unlike previous repairs, the parts are now manufactured and certified in Russia, which represents an important step towards localization and import substitution in the field of cable car equipment and infrastructure facilities of ski resorts.

Deputy General Director of Kavkaz.RF, Khisa Bekkaev, noted that Ruslet also produces cable cars for other resorts, such as Veduchi and Mamison. In 2025, similar work is planned on the first stage of the cable car connecting the Azau and Krugozor stations. In the near future, new cabins produced by Ruslet will appear at the resort, which will run between the Krugozor and Mir stations.

The Kavkaz.RF development institute is responsible for the construction and development of resorts, the management of special economic zones of the tourist and recreational type, and the creation of conditions for business in the North Caucasus Federal District.
