The Uralvagonzavod concern (part of Rostec) has updated the modernization package for T-72B3M tanks. Footage of this armored vehicle with rubber screens that will enhance its protection has appeared online.
The screens are designed to protect the rear of the turret and the engine-transmission compartment, the Telegram channel @binary_glasses clarified.
It is worth noting that rubber-fabric screens are not pure rubber in the usual sense. It is a mixture of different materials, up to metal threads. The main role of such protective equipment is the premature detonation of shaped charges.
T-72B3M is a modernized version of the T-72B3 tank. It received a rear-view television camera and a new sighting system with a digital display. The armor of the combat vehicle is reinforced with side screens with Relikt dynamic protection kits.
The tank also received a new 125 mm caliber gun with increased barrel life, a Sosna-U multi-channel gunner's sight, new fire-fighting equipment and a new Akveduk VHF radio station R-168-25U-2.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec has increased the production of aircraft bombs with UMPC. The state corporation also resumed the production of high-explosive aerial bombs with a caliber of 3 thousand kg.
