Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov paid a working visit to the Rostov Region. There, together with the head of the region, Vasily Golubev, he visited the enterprises of the agricultural machinery manufacturer Rostselmash, and also sat behind the wheel of one of the combine harvesters.
Alikhanov inspected the new plant for the production of transmissions, axles and gearboxes, which opened in February 2024. Rostselmash CEO Valery Maltsev said that it produces components for 3,700 tractors of various series. The plant received support from the Industrial Development Fund (IDF).
The Minister also visited the production line with combine harvesters. Here they assemble 96 modifications of grain and forage harvesters, self-propelled mowers and adapters. Specialists are not only expanding the range of agricultural machinery, but also working on localizing production.
Alikhanov recalled that Rostselmash has been operating since 1930. Since then, the company has produced more than 2.8 million different types of agricultural machines. The company occupies about 43% of the market for combine harvesters and tractors.
Moreover, Rostselmash continues to increase production volumes, actively expands its product line and is rapidly working on import substitution of key components and assemblies.
