Design and development tests of transformable reflectors with membrane reflectors were carried out in several categories. They were tested under vacuum and critical temperatures, as well as tested for vibration and acoustic loads.
The company's specialists confirmed the correctness of the design decisions made for this class of reflectors on samples with a diameter of 1.5 and 12 meters. The development and implementation of a new technology for creating on-board reflectors will improve their reflective properties and ensure the lightness and compactness of products. It will be possible to place more payload on the spacecraft of JSC "RESHETNEV", thereby increasing their competitive advantages.
Earlier, the Baltic State Technical University "VOENMEH" named after D.F. Ustinov presented its new method of deploying reflectors for space objects. The developers say that with its use, Russian orbital probes and telescopes will become more accurate and safer, and also more economical by 13%.
The production base of JSC "RESHEТNЁV" is located in the closed city of Zheleznogorsk, located near Krasnoyarsk.
"RESHEТNЁV" is the Russian leader in the development and production of communication and telecommunication spacecraft. The satellites created in Siberia serve to maintain and develop the information infrastructure of Russia and other countries. The satellite developer has been under sanctions from a number of Western countries since 2022.
The enterprise "RESHEТNЁV" is the only one in the country that develops and manufactures satellite repeaters. In particular, these are satellites for the Luch space system, which help maintain communication with the Russian segment of the ISS. They participated in the launch of the Angara-A5 heavy rocket and the Orion upper stage.
Also, Reshetnev employees are the only ones in the country who produce coordinate-metric spacecraft; they can determine the location and speed of an object on Earth. In particular, the GLONASS system works with these devices.
