Russian Trade Representative in Nigeria Maxim Petrov said that from 2025 the country may start producing Russian automotive spare parts. Preparations for this have already begun.
Several enterprises said they are very interested in doing business in Nigeria, and tentatively in September they will come to this country with a business mission.
According to him, Russian business wants to expand production and accelerate the production of parts, in addition, it is necessary to develop the markets of friendly countries.
Petrov added that the Minister of Industry of the country, Otunba Adebay assured that Russian businesses will have access to tax incentives when placing industrial enterprises in Nigeria.
At the same time, experts do not exclude that Russian businessmen may face logistical difficulties, in addition, it is not very clear how profitable the production of parts in Africa is.
Note that there are 15 car assembly plants in Nigeria. They mainly produce Chinese and Indian cars and trucks.
