Part of the Russian Nuclear Triad: The Fastest Tu-95MS Missile Carrier Aircraft Practiced In-Flight Refueling in the Far East

The refueling was carried out at an altitude of over 5,500 meters

Crews of the world's fastest turboprop serial missile-carrying aircraft, the Tu-95MS of the Far Eastern Aviation Regiment of Long-Range Aviation (stationed in the Amur Region), practiced in-flight refueling. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Aerial refueling is a necessary element of training for long-range aviation pilots, allowing them to significantly increase their combat radius and perform tasks as intended at a great distance from their bases.

More than 10 crews took part in the exercises, practicing piloting techniques and air navigation during the day and at night. The pilots refueled at an altitude of over 5.5 thousand meters at a speed of over 550 km/h. In addition, the engineering and technical staff worked out tasks to prepare aircraft for re-departure.

The press service of the defense department added that more than 5 Tu-95MS and Il-78 aircraft were involved in the scheduled flights.
