Russia has tested a vacuum gun for countering drones. The device shoots a super-light and super-strong net measuring 3 by 3 meters. This was announced by Polina Albek, General Director of the company "First Airship".
We already have a minimal sample of this vacuum gun at our production facility. The chief designer has worked out this hypothesis, a vacuum salvo is possible.
According to her, the current firing range of the net is 240 m. In the future, the developers hope to increase it to 600 m.
Features of the vacuum gun for countering UAVs:
- all components, including optics and guidance system, are Russian
- gun barrel length - 6 m
- gun weight - 1.5 t
- transported on a trailer
