The development of a naval version of the Russian Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) may be completed by the end of 2024. This was announced by Vyacheslav Dzirkan, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Concern.
By the end of the year, we must complete the development of the naval version of the Tor-M2KM SAM, we are talking about adapting the complex for ships and for covering naval bases.
Dzirkan stressed that during the International Naval Salon "Fleet-2024" in Kronstadt, the concern's stand, which exhibited a model of the naval "Thor", was visited by delegations from Vietnam, Iran, Iraq and Bahrain.
Tor-M2KM is a modification of Tor-M2 in a modular design, which is distinguished by the absence of a chassis. The SAM is designed to engage aircraft, helicopters, aerodynamic unmanned aerial vehicles, guided missiles and other elements of high-precision weapons flying at medium, low and extremely low altitudes in complex air and jamming environments.
