Scientists from the Novosibirsk Boreskov Institute of Catalysis SB RAS (IC SB RAS), in collaboration with the Omsk Titan Group, will create the first Russian technology based on the synthesis of acetone hydrogenation catalysts. The development will help establish the production of high-quality isopropyl alcohol (IPA). This was reported by the press service of the group of companies.
The new technology will allow the production of high-quality isopropyl alcohol that surpasses imported counterparts in several characteristics. The goal of the development is to import substitution of chemical products containing IPA.
The goal of this work is to completely replace scarce imported products of low- and medium-tonnage high-conversion chemistry on the Russian market. Existing developments already prove that we can quickly establish the production of our own catalysts.
According to Alexey Danilov, the developers have already started producing several types of catalysts. The experimental batch is planned to be developed by 2026.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia replaced Japanese glue for military electronics.
