Scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Catalysis named after G. K. Boreskov SB RAS (IC SB RAS), in collaboration with the Omsk group of companies "Titan", will create the first technology in Russia based on the synthesis of hydrogenation catalysts for acetone. The development will help establish the production of high-quality isopropyl alcohol (IPA). This was reported by the press service of the group of companies.
The new technology will allow the production of high-quality isopropyl alcohol, surpassing imported analogues in a number of characteristics. The goal of the development is to replace chemical products with IPA in the composition.
The goal of this work is to completely replace scarce imported products of low- and medium-tonnage chemistry of high conversion in the Russian market. Existing developments already prove that we can establish the production of our own catalysts in the shortest possible time.
According to Alexey Danilov, the developers have already started producing several types of catalysts. The experimental batch is planned to be developed by 2026.
