The Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) has already shot down American ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missiles in the combat zone. New guided anti-aircraft missiles (SAMs) have been produced for this type of weapon, which will ensure the interception of dozens of air attack weapons, according to the Telegram channel @RussianArms.
This ammunition will be used by the Pantsir-S1 and its modernized version, the Pantsir-SM/SV.
In the video, on the left edge, you can see the standard two-stage short-range SAM 57E6. The maximum missile speed is 1300 m/s, the mid-trajectory speed is about 900 m/s, the range is 20 km, and the maximum altitude of the target hit is 15 km. The 57E6 SAM is capable of intercepting targets with overloads of up to 15 Gs.
Following it is the two-stage medium-range interceptor missile 57E6M with a higher impulse solid propellant rocket engine for the booster stage. The maximum speed is up to 1700 m/s, the mid-trajectory speed is up to 1100 m/s, and the range is up to 40 km. A special feature of this anti-aircraft missile is the "Zavesa"-type kinetic warhead, which ensures target engagement by direct hit, "hit-to-kill".
The third SAM in the row in the video is the small-sized single-stage interceptor missile 19Ya6. The maximum speed is up to 900 m/s, the range is up to 10 km. It is capable of intercepting targets at an altitude of up to 5.5 km. These SAMs can increase the ammunition load of the Pantsir-S1/SM by a factor of 4 and ensure the interception of small-sized copters, aircraft-type UAVs, as well as artillery and rocket projectiles at distances of up to 5 km.
These SAMs turn the Pantsir-S1/SM SAM system into a universal multi-channel air defense/missile defense tool that provides interception of dozens of air attack weapons with an effective reflecting surface area of 0.003 m².
Pantsir Has Already Shot Down ATACMS
The Pantsir SAM system has already shot down American ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missiles, the press service of the High-Precision Complexes holding (part of Rostec) noted.
Pantsir has already proven its ability to engage almost the entire range of enemy air attack weapons. ATACMS is a complex target, but there are calculations on board combat vehicles that have added profiles of this missile.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Pantsir-S1 SAM system began to be installed on specialized farm towers for low-altitude detection and interception in various regions of Russia. Placement at a height of 25-30 meters helps its RLM SOC circular-scan radar detector and 1RS-3E target tracking and guidance radars become more effective.
