Meteor Auto Company (Engels Spark Plugs LLC) and Rosatom signed agreements within the framework of SPIEF, according to which Meteor Auto spark plugs will begin to be produced from domestic zirconium dioxide. Previously, it was purchased abroad.
The ultimate goal is to launch the serial production of zirconium dioxide powder from Russian raw materials, which will replace existing foreign analogues.
It is needed to make the spark plugs more resistant to corrosion and more durable.
This is not the only agreement reached. Krasцветмет will establish the production of wire from platinum, iridium, gold and silver for Meteor Auto spark plugs. Currently, it is purchased abroad.
Recall that the Meteor Auto plant is the former industrial site of Bosch.
