«Не хватает профи по прошивке дронов»: российских военных учат управлять БПЛА и подавлять их

Training is conducted at the training center of the Leningrad Military District

A new military occupational specialty has appeared in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation — a UAV operator. A training program for controlling and suppressing drones has been introduced at the training center of the Leningrad Military District. Here they are taught to fly FPV drones: first on simulators, and later on the training ground.

Training of UAV operators

Four classrooms with 15 computers and two Nebo-type simulators have been prepared for military personnel. The classrooms are equipped with equipment to counter UAVs.

Some become operators, others become technicians

Instructors at the LVO center say that not all military personnel become operators. Some of them choose the specialization of a technician.

Our task is to teach people not only to fly, but also to configure the device and even repair it in case of a malfunction.

According to him, the center produces specialists with a broad profile.

In unmanned aviation, there should be UAV operators, payload operators and specialists who can repair and reprogram the drone. Today, there is a shortage of specialists in the maintenance of drones, in their firmware

Many instructors at the center have combat experience and follow the development of military UAVs.

After the theoretical part, military personnel must fly about 50 hours on simulators. Then they move on to the practical part of the training. At the training ground, they are divided into pairs: one military man controls the UAV, the second prepares the device for launch. This approach helps the military to get coordinated and work effectively in tandem.

Introduction to the Serpentine anti-drone systems and the Dnieper anti-drone gun

At the center, military personnel acquire the skills to use the Dnieper anti-drone guns and the Serpentine complexes, which perform a similar task. Each practical exercise is structured as follows: one group raises UAVs into the sky, the other suppresses them. In addition, they learn how to work with signal repeater drones that ensure the safety of calculations.
