The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that in the next five years, the auto giant plans to abandon the production of LADA Granta. The model has been on the assembly line since 2011.
We believe that this will be on average in a five-year perspective, starting from next year.
Granta is the best-selling car in the Russian new car market. In April, 19,421 units were sold, in March — 20,412, in February — 13,067 cars.
Earlier at SPIEF, LADA Iskra was presented, which AvtoVAZ intended to replace Granta on the assembly line, but then the AvtoVAZ employees changed their minds. Now the new model will stand in line between Granta and Vesta.
