Combines the best qualities of "Solntsepyok" and "Tosochka": TOS-3 "Dragon" highly appreciated in the West

The War Zone: TOS-3 "Dragon" inherited the best from its predecessors and absorbed the experience of combat operations

The Russian TOS-3 "Dragon" heavy flamethrower system has absorbed the best qualities of its predecessors TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" and TOS-2 "Tosochka", and has also taken into account their real combat experience. The undeniable features of the combat vehicle were highlighted in a material by the American publication The War Zone.

The new TOS-3 is designed to combine the best qualities of both earlier systems. It received missiles that are capable of firing at a greater distance than the "Solntsepyok".

Analysts at the publication noted that this type of weapon uses ammunition that is used to create a high-temperature explosion, as well as a more powerful blast wave for a longer duration than conventional condensed explosives.

The main targets of the "Dragon" will be enemy manpower, both in open and closed firing positions, as well as light armored vehicles and support vehicles for combat systems.

The journalist added that although the new system largely relies on its predecessors, the anti-drone screens directly indicate the experience gained in combat.

Earlier, the German publication Die Welt reacted to the appearance of the TOS-3 "Dragon" in Russia in its article entitled "With this terrible weapon, Russia is reaching a new level".

It is worth recalling that the first "live" images of the TOS-3 "Dragon" appeared quite recently. The system uses a still unknown type of tracked system, and also received factory anti-drone protection.
