"Honey Badger" Transformer Body Armor Created for Russian Military

The new product is capable of protecting against shots from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Yarygin pistol

The Russian company "Khammari" presented a transformer body armor with detachable modules at the "Equipment-2024" exhibition in Moscow. The new product is called "Honey Badger."

Evgeny Bataev, General Director of Khammari, explained the unusual name of the new product. According to him, the honey badger is an animal of the weasel family. It is small, but very dangerous.

The body armor is able to protect against shots from the Yarygin pistol (BR-3 class armor protection) and the Kalashnikov assault rifle (BR-5 armor protection), as well as from fragments. It consists of two modules. A soldier can unfasten one of the layers of body armor depending on the situation. For example, while sitting at the dining table, a soldier does not need to be in full gear. The body armor has now been sent to the troops for testing.

Earlier, www1.ru reported on the new "Obereg-S" body armor. It is intended for Russian sappers from humanitarian demining missions.
