Russian military personnel operating in the Zaporozhye direction are using the unique Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is the only air defense system capable of firing on the move.

The Tor-M2 allows for a 360-degree view and simultaneous tracking of up to 48 targets. The SAM system identifies an object in the air at 16 kilometers when it is at an altitude of 100 meters to 10 kilometers.

As a reminder, the Tor SAM system is a Soviet development. It has been in production since 1986. The complex is designed to cover important objects, as well as the first echelons of ground formations from cruise missiles, drones, and anti-radar missiles.

The Tor-M2 modification has been supplied to the troops since 2016. The complex includes a 9A331M2 combat vehicle with a set of 9M338K surface-to-air missiles, a target detection station with a ground-based radar interrogator and antenna stabilization system, as well as a guidance station.

It should be noted that the Armed Forces also have other modifications of the Tor SAM system in service. Among them is the Tor-E2, a mobile air defense system designed for export, among other things. Almaz-Anteyconsiders this system to be the best in the Tor SAM family. The military also uses the Tor-M2KM, whichis used to equip naval ships in the Black Sea. The TOR-M1 SAM system on the GM-5955 tracked vehicle, according to the military, "100 percent destroys" the Leleka, Baba Yaga, and Furia drones.

Earlier,www1.ru wrote that new target-simulators of cruise missiles weredeveloped for training and preparing future operators of the Tor, Buk, and Pantsir air defense systems.
