Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed decrees approving the requirements for organizations in the management of unmanned vessels on behalf of shipowners.
Organizations must have a certificate confirming their authority in the field of autonomous navigation. They must ensure the continuous operation and proper technical condition of the communication facilities used to control the unmanned vessel.
In addition, organizations must ensure the operation of an external crew, staffed in accordance with the requirements of the Merchant Shipping Code or inland water transport.
The Cabinet recalled that Russia is testing the first autonomous research vessel, the Pioneer-M catamaran, which was launched in 2021. Also, autonomous navigation systems are being tested on the ferries "General Chernyakhovsky" and "Marshal Rokossovsky."
Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia will build 25 large pleasure boats with a cool design. The price of each is 300 million rubles.
