Ready in 30 seconds, up to 20 rounds per minute: 2B24 light mortars handed over to Russian soldiers

Rostec: mortars are suitable for arming infantry

Rostec has supplied the troops with a batch of 2B24 light mortars with a caliber of 82 mm. Simple and functional weapons allow arming infantry units, including mountain rifle units, the state corporation's press service reported.

The mortar is made of modern materials, which reduced its weight. Thanks to this, a crew of several people will be able to carry the weapon and ammunition for it on their own. The Rostec press service emphasized that the light 2B24 can be taken with you to the forest and mountains. At the same time, deploying the mortar will take no more than 30 seconds.

Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec cluster of conventional weapons, said that the mortar is an effective means of destroying enemy manpower, lightly armored vehicles and shelters. He also pointed out the features of 2B24.

The circular firing plate allows firing the mortar from any type of soil. The effectiveness of mortars increases in conjunction with modern guidance and objective control equipment, such as drones.
