«Умные автобусы» из Перми контролируют водителей и принимают бесконтактную оплату

The upgraded digital vehicle is based on the city NEFAZ 5299-40-57

At the digital technology exhibition within the CIPR in Nizhny Novgorod, a unique «Smart Bus» was presented. This is a standard gas-powered NEFAZ 5299-40-57, which was modified by order of regional stakeholders: Perm Municipal Unitary Enterprise «PermGorElectroTrans» with the participation of the Ministry of Transport of the Perm Territory, the Department of Transport of Perm, and IT-CenterService LLC.

The «Smart Bus» from «KAMAZ»'s subsidiary, after modification, can:

  • monitor driver attention and fatigue;
  • monitor the internal state of the bus;
  • accept contactless payment for travel via a mobile application and QR code. This uses a solution from PJSC «MTS» with passenger geolocation transmitted via Bluetooth Low Energy and GPS/GLONASS technologies. The service ensures cashless payment based on the final route and receipt of an electronic check;
  • provide route guidance using voice and visual information;
  • count passengers — each bus has a comprehensive passenger flow accounting system, based on a computing unit with built-in video cameras. Passenger counting is done using neural network video analytics.

«Smart buses» help ensure the safety of urban and transport infrastructure. The experience of the Perm Territory has interested representatives from other regions of Russia.
