Gunsmiths at "Kidma tek" have completed the first stage of development, reducing the sound of the shot by five times

The Belarusian company "Kidma tek" has completed the first stage of development of the special sniper rifle (VSS) "Whisper-739". According to test results, the gunsmiths achieved a 5-fold reduction in the sound of the shot while maintaining the effectiveness of hitting a target up to 300 m.

The rifle is suitable for 7.62x39-mm cartridges with a BLC-18 armor-piercing bullet, which allows it to penetrate an 18 mm thick steel plate at a distance of 100 m. At the same time, the "Whisper-739" has a barrel life of 10,000 shots without compromising the quality of shooting.

"Kidma tek" has moved on to the second stage of development, which aims to reduce the sound of the VSS shot to the level of a Kalashnikov assault rifle with a folding stock (AKMS) with a silent shooting device (PBS, silencer) while maintaining the effectiveness of hitting a target at a distance of up to 300 m.

Tests of the prototype VSS "Whisper-739" will be completed by the end of 2024.
