The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has developed an armor complex for the UAZ "Patriot" car. This was reported by insiders.
The windows and the rear wall of the car's interior are covered with armored plates, and the doors are protected with anti-splinter armor. Due to the armor, the weight of the car has increased and the suspension has suffered. It had to be reinforced: new shock absorbers, additional springs and four-leaf springs will be installed on the car.
The cost of the armored version is unknown, and it is also unclear how many such cars are planned to be produced annually in Ulyanovsk. There will certainly be demand for the cars among the military.
