Первый в мире: в России придумали гель для регенерации костей после пулевых ранений

It can restore bones even after major splintered wounds

Specialists from Volgograd State Medical University (VolgSMU) have developed the world's first bioassimilable gel for bone tissue regeneration. It can be used to treat splintered and major bullet injuries to bones.

Dmitry Kompantsev, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, explained that the drug is a nutritional and building mixture that is enhanced with regeneration activators. This approach will help the body trigger the mechanism of bone tissue restoration.

The level of identity of the restored bone tissue is 100%. It is synthesized by its own osteophyte cells. To date, there are no registered analogues in the medical device market in terms of product composition.

Unlike the bioinert bone replacement materials already on the market, the development is a gel for filling bone defects, not a powder. This provides convenience for the surgeon and deeper penetration of the material into the damaged tissues.

In the future, the material can be used in operations on cartilage and bone tissues in surgery and dentistry, as well as in the treatment of splintered and bullet wounds.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a virtual reality rehabilitation technology has been developed in Russia for Russian military personnel with PTSD.
