Motorica Relocates Production to the Capital and Increases it Several Times Over

The Russian company "Motorica," one of the largest manufacturers of functional bionic prostheses and neurointerfaces in Russia, is localizing its production in the "Technopolis Moscow" Special Economic Zone. The manufacturers received the status of a resident of the technopolis at the end of 2023, and the restart in a new location in Pechatniki is expected by the third quarter of 2024.

Today, the demand for assistive technologies that help people with disabilities feel comfortable in everyday life is growing worldwide. Therefore, in 2023, the company adopted a development strategy for "Motorica" as a multi-product company. In 2024, we will start producing leg prostheses in the Moscow SEZ, and by 2028 we will launch the production of electric wheelchairs, exoskeletons, hearing implants, and implantable microelectronics. Our products will have a built-in intuitive control and feedback system with AI.
 Andrey Davidyuk, CEO of "Motorica"

Upon relocation, the production will occupy over 1.1 thousand square meters, where there will be areas for mechanical processing of parts and 3D printing. In 2025, the company plans to increase production areas to 2 thousand square meters, including the launch of a conveyor assembly line. All this will give the city more than 300 new jobs. For "Motorica" itself, the relocation means a fourfold increase in capacity — and this is only until the end of the year, immediately after the launch.

The company "Motorica" has been developing and manufacturing cybernetic medical devices since 2015. The manufacture of bionic prostheses uses new technologies and materials such as 3D printing, an AI-based control system and smart functions, and silicone from graphene nanotubes, which allows the cybernetic hand to work with touch screens. "Motorica" has its own design studio working on the design of prostheses. According to the manufacturers, their products are purchased not only in Russia, but also in the CIS countries, India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East — in 17 countries.
