Residents of the Moscow region handed over 14 million units of packaging to the eco-points of Rostec's subsidiary, RT-Invest. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
In total, 10 million plastic bottles were collected - more than 300,000 kg of plastic, as well as four million aluminum cans - about 75,000 kg of metal.
RT-Invest will recycle the plastic into special shavings and send it to production facilities that manufacture new packaging, auto parts and much more. Aluminum will be transferred to recycling organizations.
Thanks to the collected bottles and cans, it was possible to prevent the release of about 300,000 kg of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the state corporation noted.
RT-Invest is the first company in Russia to implement a waste management system with zero disposal.
Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia developed biodegradable and environmentally friendly biopolymers based on plant materials.
