Sergey Kogogin, General Director of PJSC "KamAZ", revealed new details about the creation of a tourist bus at the international economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum". It will be shown to the public next year.
According to him, developers are currently engaged in design and plan to assemble the first sample of the vehicle. If everything goes according to plan, the bus will be shown to the public in 2025.
Kogogin announced plans to create a tourist bus for the first time in December 2023. He explained that the project would be in demand against the background of the growth of domestic tourism. Five months earlier, in July 2023, the Ministry of Economic Development and KamAZ created a working group for the production of tourist buses.
The need for the creation of a tourist bus arose against the background of a shortage of such transport in Russia. Representatives of the Russian Union of the Tourism Industry complained about this. The fact is that foreign buses have become difficult to maintain due to sanctions.
Note that in 2012, KamAZ, together with companies from Venezuela, tried to launch the production of tourist buses for this country. The project was closed for an unknown reason. Only a few copies were produced.
