Scammers in Russia have come up with a new way to deceive people. Now they are promising citizens of retirement age a recalculation of social benefits. This was announced by Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
According to the parliamentarian, the fraudsters pose as employees of the Social Fund. They offer to apply for a pension recalculation over the phone, citing allegedly previously unaccounted for work experience.
If the victim agrees, the fraudsters ask for the code from the SMS message "for identification". And at the same time, they gain access to the victim's profile on the "Gosuslugi" portal or in a mobile bank.
The deputy once again stressed that in the age of information technology, everyone should protect their money from fraudsters. He recommended not to disclose personal data over the phone and to block suspicious calls.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that a new way of deception wasinvented in Telegram.
