The only operating paddle steamer in Russia, "N.V. Gogol," built in 1911 at the Sormovo shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod, will open its 113th navigation season on the Northern Dvina River on May 25. The steamer is considered one of the attractions of the Russian North.

The press service of USC reported that "N.V. Gogol" underwent inter-navigation repairs over the winter. Thanks to the modernization of systems and annual maintenance, the steamer meets safety requirements.

Since 1972, the paddle steamer has been serviced by specialists from the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center. It is the only vessel of its class that is regularly operated. Over the years, "N.V. Gogol" has transported more than 1 million passengers.
