Robotic Firefighter Deployed at Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant

The device is designed to extinguish all types of fires

A robotic firefighter has appeared at the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant, designed to eliminate fires of any hazard class. This was announced by Alexey Solovyov, Head of the Fire Safety Department of the nuclear facility.

Despite its small size, the robotic firefighter extinguishes fires at industrial facilities and in hard-to-reach areas. It prevents the spread of fire in natural conditions. The range of the extinguishing agent is 60 m.

The device is remotely controlled by an operator. Commands are transmitted to the robotic firefighter via a radio channel within a radius of up to 1 km.

The robot is equipped with cameras, a thermal imager, and chemical and radiation reconnaissance devices, which can transmit information to the control post online.

The Rosatom press service noted that the use of a robotic firefighter will minimize the risks for fire station employees when extinguishing fires.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia is launching the production of new fire-fighting drones.
