The federal project "General Cleaning" in the Kuril Islands is nearing its final stage. It is planned to raise and dispose of another 10 sunken vessels from the waters of the Sakhalin Region off the coast of Paramushir.
Conducting salvage operations in this area is not easy. The process is complicated by unfavorable weather and other factors.
Meteorological conditions, natural phenomena (tides), soil quality, and the presence of sand, which is constantly drifting, necessitate the use and adoption of a unique method of salvage, different from generally accepted rules.
Despite the fact that nature has decided to hinder the sea cleaning process, the "General Cleaning" is proceeding according to plan. Experts want to complete all work within three months.
The Sakhalin Region continues to implement the presidential project "General Cleaning" to clear water areas of sunken property. On behalf of Governor Valery Limarenko, we are carrying out this work at an accelerated pace.
It was additionally noted that this year the largest volume of work will take place in the Severo-Kurilsky and Korsakovsky districts. Here, it is planned to raise another 18 vessels from the seabed.
Earlier, www1.ru wrote that sunken vessels are being disposed of for the first time using a unique Russian laser mobile complex.
