Российские космонавты на два часа раньше вернулись из открытого космоса на МКС

Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub completed all tasks ahead of schedule

Roscosmos has summed up the results of Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub's spacewalk. The mission outside the ISS took two hours less than the planned 6 hours and 36 minutes.

According to the space agency, in 4 hours and 36 minutes, the cosmonauts managed to complete all the main and additional tasks.

The cosmonauts managed to:

  • install the Quartz scientific equipment and the TKK-KM scientific equipment on the Poisk module;
  • fully deploy the second panel of the small-sized radar of the Napor-miniRSA experiment on the Nauka module;
  • take swab samples from the surface of the Nauka module in the interests of the Test experiment. They will help in the study of the development of microdestruction of elements of the structure of Russian ISS modules under the influence of components of their own external atmosphere.

In addition, on Poisk, the cosmonauts dismantled one of the two containers of the Biorisk-MSN scientific equipment and deployed the pressure and deposition control unit in a different position, measuring the rate of deposition of contaminants on the outer surface of the ISS.
