Kamaz to resume work on 12-seater unmanned vehicle

The project was put on hold during the coronavirus pandemic

This year, PJSC "Kamaz" will allocate 1.9 billion rubles to the Advanced Engineering School (AES) "CyberAutoTech". Among the projects to be implemented by this school is KAMAZ-1221, a 12-seater unmanned vehicle first presented at the Moscow Motor Show in 2016.

The unmanned vehicle was planned to be used in parks and exhibition centers. The coronavirus pandemic and Western sanctions disrupted plans to start production of the unmanned vehicle in 2020-2021. However, with the creation of the Advanced Engineering School, Kamaz returned to this project. Work is currently underway to select a domestic component base.

It should be reminded that the Advanced Engineering School "Cyber Auto Tech" was opened in 2022 in Naberezhnye Chelny on the basis of the branch of the Kazan Federal University on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science. Within the framework of AES, engineering personnel are being trained for high-tech sectors of the economy. PJSC "Kamaz" is an industrial partner of the project.
