"RT-Invest" sent over 2 thousand tons of household appliances for recycling

Rostec named useful fractions in the composition of obsolete equipment

The Russian company "RT-Invest" (part of Rostec) has sent 2 thousand tons of electronic scrap for recycling since 2021. Valuable secondary resources are recycled at processing plants in the Moscow region, the corporation's press service reported.

We are talking about mobile phones, refrigerators, printers, monitors and other electronics that have become obsolete.

What fractions are present in e-waste:

  • ABS/PC plastic
  • polymers
  • ferrous metals
  • non-ferrous and precious metals

These fractions have a wide range of applications, in particular, ABS/PC plastic is used to make granules, which are used in the manufacture of threads for 3D printing. Recycled metal is reused in production.

Precious metals (silver, gold) are extracted from the microcircuits of electronic devices. It is known that there are about 5 g of gold and 10 g of silver in one ton of electronic scrap. In three years, 10 kg of gold and 20 kg of silver can be extracted from recycled materials. This is enough to melt 10 thousand rings.

Earlier, "RT-Invest" sent tons of broken glass for recycling, which will be used to produce toys.
