Chinese Chery crossovers will start being assembled at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga instead of GAC, according to auto expert Sergei Tsyganov. According to him, AGR LLC Art-Finance, which owns the technology site, was unable to reach an agreement with the management of Guangzhou Automobile Group on a partnership.

Three thousand Volkswagen Polo sedans may also be produced at the Kaluga plant. Such plans were previously announced by the Avilon dealership holding, which is associated with Art-Finance. Auto expert Tsyganov doubted the implementation of this idea, since a year ago the plant tried to assemble 1,700 Polos, but faced a shortage of components.
