The Ministry of Digital Development has begun to consolidate data of schoolchildren from educational institutions in the regions into the federal system "My School" (launched in January 2023). This includes passport data and birth certificates. The goal of the project is to create "digital portfolios" of students.
The system will also store SNILS and ESIA identifiers, data of parents, guardians, and teachers. The ministry explained that "My School" will allow providing electronic services in the field of education at a high level. Tatarstan and Tyumen have already voluntarily joined the project.
What experts say about this initiative
Anton Vorobyov, a representative of K2Tekh, believes that the costs of implementing the project will be significant. This is due to the need to use certified equipment to protect data transmission channels.
Another expert pointed out the risks of a "single point of failure" due to data consolidation in one system. In case of failures, this will affect the operation of "My School" in the regions, he emphasized.
